Tamim Iqbal and Mashrafe Mortaza after Bangladesh's victory, Bangladesh v Zimbabwe, 5th ODI, Chittagong, Dec 12, 2010

Mashrafe Mortaza has been named Bangladesh’s captain for a dual Twenty20s opposite Sri Lanka. He will lead in place of Mushfiqur Rahim, who postulated a finger injury during a second Test.

BCB boss Nazmul Hassan spoke to a few directors of a house from Singapore to come to a decision. Tamim Iqbal will continue as vice-captain, and nonetheless he was approaching to be promoted, Mashrafe’s seniority and knowledge as captain counted in his favour.

Mashrafe led a group in a singular Test match, in 2009, during that he got harmed while bowling. After recovering, he captained in 7 ODIs in 2010 after that he got harmed again, and Shakib Al Hasan took over from 2011.

Both Twenty20s will be hold during a Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, on Feb 12 and 14. Mushfiqur is approaching to lapse for a three-match ODI series, that starts on Feb 17, and his damage on his left small finger will be monitored on a daily basis.
